Touchless flushing – right on trend

When it comes to flushing the toilet, touchless operation is becoming increasingly popular in private homes and public sanitary installations alike. Touchless flush actuation triggered by infrared sensors delivers what customers want most: greater hygiene.

The control electronics integrated into the actuator plate allow the toilet to flush either automatically after use, or via a simple hand gesture in front of the infrared sensor. Installation of a touchless flush requires a mains connection at the WC.

The Geberit Sigma80 and Geberit Sigma10 actuator plates support touchless or automatic flush actuation. Both models are suitable for use with conventional toilets as well as shower toilets.

The actuator plate remains in economy mode until someone approaches. Power consumption increases briefly during the flush and when the light indicator on the flush button lights up.

The Geberit Sigma80 actuator plate is particularly hygienic and easy to clean. It operates without the need for any physical contact or pressing of buttons.

Automatic flushing is available as an optional feature. The actuator plate has a premium glass surface and uses sensor-based technology to trigger the flush.

As you approach the toilet, two light bars indicate the flush actuation buttons, reflecting the dual flush function.

You can even choose your preferred colour for the light bars from five options to complement your bathroom aesthetic.

Geberit Typ10 remote flush actuation Small and touchless

The touchless Geberit remote flush actuators can be positioned anywhere within a 170 cm radius of the cistern, making them easy to access and ideal for user convenience. They are widely used in public settings, particularly in barrier-free bathrooms, where side-mounted actuation is often required.

Remote flush actuation is also an excellent option for private WC areas. When the cistern is fully built-in – serving as a low-height concealed cistern, for example – the remote flush actuator offers an alternative to the standard actuator plate.

The slim infrared button measures just 60 mm in diameter and features a high-quality stainless steel cover. Thanks to its infrared technology, it enables fully touchless flushing and can be freely positioned.

Frequently asked questions about the touchless toilet flush

How does a touchless toilet flush work?

A touchless toilet flush operates using infrared sensors that detect movement. The sensor emits infrared beams and receives the reflected signals. When someone enters the sensor area, the sensor registers the change and recognises that a person is present.

Once the toilet has been used, a hand gesture towards the sensor triggers an electronic signal to the flush valve, which then actuates the flush automatically – no need to touch the actuator plate.

Modern automatic toilet flush systems also allow you to adjust the amount of water used.
