A fresh coat of paint for your bathroom
After the wild colours that were popular during the 70s and 80s, white returned for a long time as the dominant colour in the bathroom. White stands for purity and has long been the classic colour in many bathrooms where it is used for tiles, walls and ceramic appliances. But the days of pristine white bathrooms are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Now customers are looking for more homely atmospheres, created, among other things, by using different colour shades.
House or apartment owners place great store in a combination of durable equipment and aesthetics, because most bathrooms will be used for periods lasting 20 to 30 years and renovated only once or perhaps not at all during this time. This also explains why white tones are not completely out of fashion. Most bathroom ceramic appliances are still manufactured in white, with the idea being that they are very easy to combine in terms of colour and people don’t tire of them quickly.
Fresh and bright room climate
Nowadays, bathroom walls are often painted in colours such as beige, light grey or powder. Neutral colours bring out a modern and timelessly elegant touch. Moreover, white washbasins and WCs look particularly sophisticated when combined with these colours.
We recommend using classic shapes and colours when it comes to sanitary installation elements and bathroom ceramics and soft, warm colours when designing the walls. And remember: Less is more. Do not attempt to mix too many different tones. It not only looks unattractive, it also creates an overwhelming and untidy appearance.
However, you can afford to add splashes of colours with your decorations and accessories which are easy and inexpensive to replace.
Colours that are a joy to be around
- Sand and nude tones create a feeling of warmth. They have a balancing effect on both the eyes and mind because they convey a sense of calm and harmony.
- Grey tones: Grey comes in a wide range of shades – mixed with a little brown, grey has a warming effect, but when it has a bluish tint, it has a cooling effect. Accessories in red, yellow or turquoise harmonise especially well with grey bathrooms.
- Pastel colours: Light blue, pink, mint and similar shades provide a sense of lightness and well-being in the room. The beauty of pastel colours is that they always cut a fine and friendly figure when combined with white appliances.
