Geberit Silent-db20 SuperTube Drainage system with excellent sound insulation

The components of the Geberit Silent-db20 SuperTube technology system are designed to work together perfectly, which allows space-saving waste water installations in high-rise buildings.
It’s the perfect system for high demands in terms of sound insulation because its sound-insulating properties ensure a peaceful environment.
Geberit Silent-db20 SuperTube makes a parallel ventilation pipe unnecessary, which creates more residential and floor space.
Pipes with smaller dimensions enable smaller pipe ducts. Geberit Silent-db20 SuperTube has a high discharge capacity of 12 l/s with pipe dimensions of d110.
Technical advantages of Geberit Silent-db20 SuperTube
The quality and hydraulic performance of SuperTube have been tested and confirmed by TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH.
Geberit Silent-db20 SuperTube meets the same sound insulation requirements as the conventional system with d160 piping and a bypass with 9.5 l/s.
Fire protection classification report in accordance with EN 13501-2 for Geberit fire protection sleeve RS90 Plus EN and Geberit Silent-db20 BottomTurn bend (Materials Testing Institute, University of Stuttgart).
You can use Autodesk® Revit® to plan sanitary systems with Geberit Silent-db20 SuperTube.
Geberit SuperTube quick overview Here’s how the drainage system works
Conventional drainage systems in high-rise buildings require a lot of space for pipes with d160 and additional secondary ventilation pipes with d90.
There also needs to be enough space below ceilings for horizontal pipes to have the correct slope. The typical discharge capacity under these conditions is 12.4 l/s.
Geberit SuperTube technology helps increase residential and floor space by creating a continuous column of air in the stack. This allows the stack to reach a discharge capacity of 12 l/s with a smaller d110 and without any additional secondary ventilation.
Horizontal pipes can also be installed without any slope over a length of up to 6 metres.
Highly sound-insulated drainage system For high-rise buildings with sound insulation requirements
The Geberit Silent-db20 drainage system stands out thanks to its high inherent weight. Reinforced plastic significantly reduces natural vibrations, ensuring that sound is effectively insulated.
The special sound insulation rib also reduces noise generation at impact zones, which means that the design of the product itself helps prevent noise. These product characteristics are now also available with SuperTube technology. A stack system that uses Geberit Silent-db20 SuperTube with 12 l/s bypass complies with the same sound insulation requirements as the conventional system with a dimension of d160 and a bypass system with a capacity of 9.5 l/s.

Improved sound insulation for direction changes
The flow behaviour observed in the Geberit Silent-db20 BottomTurn bend reveals that it provides a much smoother flow when redirecting waste water from the vertical pipe into the horizontal pipe. Flows in conventional designs are much less smooth, which naturally leads to a higher noise level. During testing, these disruptive noises were even detected in adjacent rooms.
The direction change with two Geberit Silent-db20 45° bends in d160 dimensions creates turbulence in the pipe, which leads to increased noise development. In contrast, the Geberit Silent-db20 BottomTurn bend, as illustrated on the right, calmly and orderly converts the annular flow from the stack into layered flow.
