Andrew Bird comments on the continuing improvements in soil and waste systems.
Soil and waste products are not exactly at the fashion end of the water industry. But they are nevertheless just as important as the new bathroom or kitchen. Indeed without the soil and waste performing properly, a new kitchen or bathroom simply will not live up to expectation.
Out of sight may be out of mind, but this very fact shows soil and waste systems can be relied upon to do their job efficiently for many years with barely a thought.
It is a testimony to the quality of design and the continuing investment in the development of new and improved products to meet the changing needs of the market. The function has changed very little over the 100 years or so that the Geberit brand has become synonymous with soil systems and the uninformed could be forgiven for assuming there has been little change in products.
However products do change and once again improvements are under way as the industry’s needs change.
The latest introduction is the extended strap boss family now including a 50mm (nom) version and which simplifies the connection of waste pipes into a 110mm soil stack.
Other recent changes have included a four way soil manifold, providing additional versatility for the installer. The four way manifold developed with sand-off spigot blanks to make installation quicker and easier by simply removing the relevant blank.
Geberit products offer a single source of supply, system integrity and Geberit guarantees. Coupled with the core values of innovation, knowledge and integration, and the additional strength of brands such as Mapress, Mepla and Duofix, the Geberit name is synonymous with comprehensive solutions for integrated drainage, plumbing and sanitary installations. The Geberit brand is becoming increasingly established throughout Europe and includes many of the UK’s most prestigious construction projects.
