The Mapress Cunife pressfitting system was developed for pipes carrying seawater in shipbuilding and other marine applications. It combines the advantages of the familiar Mapress system Steel with the high sea water corrosion resistance, resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high strength of the specially selected copper nickel alloy CuNiFe1.6Mn.
The Mapress range consists of pipe and fittings. Along with other Mapress materials CuNIfe now benefits from the new press indicator. The brightly coloured indicator makes it easy to visibly distinguish pressed and unpressed joints. The CuNiFe system offers sizes (pipe ODs) ranging from 15 to 108mm. CuNiFe fittings are supplied with factory fitted black butyl rubber (CIIR) O-ring seals suitable for use with both seawater and fresh water. Mapress CuNiFe pipes are available in 6m lengths.
