Following my degree in Marketing at Lancaster University, I initially embarked upon a career in sales before deciding to go travelling for a year, during which time I fell into another sales based role! However, this helped give me a good understanding of the sales environment which certainly helps with my role here at Geberit.
I wanted to start my career in marketing with a forward thinking company. The local Geberit business had the added bonus of feeling and operating like a smaller business which means that you feel involved in the development of the company whilst also having the support and brand awareness of a large multi-national corporation.
Primarily, the local marketing team are here to deliver the marketing strategy year on year. This means that I am supporting the external sales team in providing them with the key information to carry out their roles. This includes pricing and competitor analysis as well as maintaining product training and new product launches. We also support the local sales force with our growth initiatives such as Geberit On Tour & Challenge. I particularly enjoy the product training associated with my role as this allows me to interact with the majority of my colleagues across the business. This gives me good internal feedback as to what's going on at Geberit as well helping to better understand our customers. The Geberit Challenge has also been a great opportunity to interact directly with our customers.
